Our Pacific Beach Hotel

We had a great experience at the newly renovated Diamond Head Inn. Clean rooms, the small kitchen was an added benefit, and well appointed bathroom. Check in is a block away at another hotel but the walk between the two hotels was less than 3 minutes. Walk out the door and be on the beach in less than 1 minute. For the price, we were very pleased. On one night it got very noisy. I thought it was a local bar but it was a group of friends in the room below us. Once they left to go out for the night we never heard another sound. Great value, friendly staff, we will stay again.

I stayed here on my last night in PB. What a great room. It came with a small kitchenette for less than some other super basic rooms in the same area. very comfortable bed and a great shower. I was about 100 feet from the sand of the beach. my only gripe is that I had to go to a sister property to do check in.

all round great experience def recommend. the outside area was super clean, rooms were right next to the beach. Thank you so much to Jim, you run this place to its excellency. from the start i felt welcomed by Isabella while checking in to checking out with Marwa both are the loveliest human beings ever. Patty is amazing she helped me get back into my room and was so helpful in all aspects. Thank you to the cleaning staff, the room was supper tidy. great experience overall would return!

Newly Renovated rooms and suites, steps from the beach! Diamond Head Inn is a hidden gem in Pacific Beach. This ocean front hotel offers a luxury location at a fraction of the price, with a friendly staff, and very clean newly remodeled and refreshed rooms (remodeled 2026)! Suites at Diamond Head Inn are well worth the price; with some rooms offering a kitchen, living room and separate bedroom (approx 450 sqft)! It was perfect for our extended stay and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for the best value in Pacific Beach; without the brand name hotel-chain price. If you want to stay in the heart of the action, in a highly walkable location along the beach boardwalk, Crystal Pier, Palisade South Park and Tourmaline Surfing Park, Diamond Head Inn is perfect for you!

Our stay at Diamond Head with suite 108 was fantastic, you will not find better value for location, condition, and walkability! Pet friendly! Only a few steps to boardwalk or beach. Friendly staff and management!

We have been staying here for years & wouldn’t stay anywhere else! From the manager Jim to Karla in the office & the housekeeping and maintenance staff are all very accommodating & friendly. The location is phenomenal & just steps from the beach! We will be back for another 2 weeks next January, can’t wait!!!

First time in San Diego and glad I chose this spot. Came in early to drop off bags and by chance the staff checked and saw the room was ready. Overall great service from all the staff. Only steps from the beach and walking distance to nearby bars and restaurants. Room itself was far better than what I expected. Water pressure was great, bed was clean, not a single stain on anything and no odor - this would be one of the best hotel stays I've had. Only negative is that the pool at their sister hotel isn't heated but this trip was in February so can't complain about that. Would recommend to others and if the price is still good, would book this again.

Overall an amazing experience just steps away from the beach. For the price you can’t really beat it! The room was clean and staff were friendly. My only complaints are that the tv was very small and the most important thing - FOR ANYONE STAYING AT DIAMONDHEAD YOU MUST CHECK IN AT THE SISTER PROPERTY PB SURF BEFORE ENTERING YOUR ROOM, THERE IS NOT A LOBBY ON SITE. I wish that was listed in the confirmation email or somewhere easy to find. However, I will definitely be staying again and you should too!

Clean room, great location (of course). The only thing you won’t like is the parking, there is none. You will have to fight for a spot on the street somewhere. Good luck.

Great location and value. Rooms were newly renovated. First room we were put in had a sewage issue and smelled terrible but management moved us into a new room without any hassle. Other than the smell the experience was fantastic for the price you pay.
