Our Pacific Beach Hotel

Absolutely loved our 6 night stay here, we will be back and have already recommended to others . we Ubered to the sister location and the check in process was super easy since we had prepaid. We took the short walk to our hotel and we stayed in room 203. A great sized room that was very hot when we entered but the powerful a/c cooled the room down while we took a short walk to Oscar’s for dinner. Our bed and bathroom were cleaned up every morning while we went to breakfast. The only problem I had with the room is the shower had a sewage smell that was unpleasant but we knew the shower was clean and figured it was a drain issue. Next time I think we’ll splurge on an ocean view. We walked to breakfast lunch and dinner everyday on the boardwalk it was truly amazing. We called to check out on our way to the airport so both check in and check out were super easy for us. Received no random/extra charges after the stay. The little kitchen area was so convenient we used the bowls and silverware to have our leftovers which was also super convenient and they did our dishes for us everyday. The hotel leads right to a public bathroom and very easy access to the beach. The beach was reserved for surfing only but we took a short walk past the pier and enjoyed getting in the ocean over there. About a 2 mile walk to mission beach. I saw other reviews complain about the noise but we didn’t hear anything from the boardwalk during our stay

My hotel room was literally 100 feet from the stairway down to the beach 😍 Every morning I would take a 3 minute walk along the boardwalk to Kono's Cafe for a delicious breakfast sandwich and then walk back to my hotel room to make myself a cup of coffee. I would then walk the 100 feet to a bench that overlooked the ocean and have my breakfast. It felt like I was in a dream. The room looked like it had been remodeled recently and even had a separate kitchenette area. If you open the window next to the small dining table and chairs you could hear the ocean 🌊 The only negative is that the outside AC unit was rusty but the weather is so perfect in San Diego I really didn't need to turn it on. The desk clerk who checked me in, I think her name is Vanessa, was very nice.

Great location, staff and great room.

Recently completed an 8 night stay at DHI and we weren’t disappointed. The rooms have recently been renovated and include basic kitchen amenities. There are many places to eat within walking distance too and your room is literally a few steps from the beach. The beach walk is spectacular. Pets are warmly welcomed which is a big plus for us and the prices are very affordable and reasonable for what you get especially so close to the water! Parking is very limited on site, but you can park at a sister site a few blocks away. We’ll be seeing you again. Until then THANK YOU DHI and Jim!

Walking distance to beach nice

Another great stay in San Diego at the Diamond Head Inn started off great again due to the warm, professional treatment by Jim the manager and staff, most notably Vanessa. Whenever you check in to the Diamond Head you can expect to be warmly and graciously welcomed by Jim the manager and his staff, most notably Vanessa. She'll get you through the check in process quickly and efficiently, and on your way to the beach. One of the first things you’ll notice is the outstanding location of the Diamond Head Inn. Views of the Pacific Beach are outstanding and are enjoyed from the balcony or can also be seen from the room. The renovated rooms are classy and comfortable with nice bedding. The unit is well stocked with cooking utensils and daily living essentials. If you find you’re missing something just call and they’ll get it right to you. Parking can be a little challenging but I have always been able to find something. My family and I will continue to utilize this family centered facility.

Love this spot! Would definitely stay here again! Room is clean and nice and spacious! There's a fully stocked kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom! Can't beat the location for this price! Although there is no deadbolt on the door and I can not lock it. It seems very safe here and not sketchy.

Great location and value. Rooms were newly renovated. First room we were put in had a sewage issue and smelled terrible but management moved us into a new room without any hassle. Other than the smell the experience was fantastic for the price you pay.

Clean room, great location (of course). The only thing you won’t like is the parking, there is none. You will have to fight for a spot on the street somewhere. Good luck.
